March 31, 2004 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider HostRocket.com (hostrocket.com) announced on Tuesday that it is sponsoring the Shenendehowa High School team participating in the 2004 US FIRST Robotics competition, an event where students work together to solve complex engineering problems. HostRocket is contributing $20,000.
Brendan Brader and John Reyes, co-founders of HostRocket.com, are both graduates of Shenendehowa High School in Clifton Park, New York.
“US FIRST gave us invaluable experience, and I’m sure that we gained skills which later helped us both in more ways than I can describe,” said Brendan Brader, chief executive officer of HostRocket.
Timothy Dick, business development manager for HostRocket, said the company hoped that by participating in such events, local youth would garner the experiences that would encourage them to pursue careers in technology.
