(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Bringing new colocation, cloud computing, and storage services to businesses in the Atlanta area, Florida-based network infrastructure services provider Host.net (www.host.net) is expanding its lease with Interconnection and colocation data center operator Telx (www.telx.com) at its 56 Marietta Street in Atlanta.
According to Telx’s Tuesday announcement, its 160,000-square-foot dedicated carrier-hotel, which also serves as an interconnection and colocation facility, will let Host.net offer new colocation, cloud computing and storage offerings to the greater Atlanta market.
Host.net has used the facility as a point of presence since 2005, however, the expanded agreement provides Host.net its first colocation, cloud computing, and storage facility outside of Florida, broadening the network infrastructure services previously available to Atlanta customers and benefiting Florida-based colocation customers with a secondary, out-of-state site.
“Host.net offers southeastern United States customers a wide variety of managed network services that complement Telx’s prime colocation and interconnection facilities,” Telx executive vice president of sales William Kolman said in a statement. “We’re pleased to extend our relationship with them to offer a comprehensive suite of networking services to our Atlanta-based customers.”
Businesses colocating in Telx’s Atlanta facility will have access to one of the most densely populated interconnection sites in the US, and the largest amount of fiber in Georgia.
In addition, the agreement gives Telx customers colocated in Atlanta another choice of providers for other managed network services, including Host.net’s business continuity and disaster recovery, metro Ethernet connectivity, MPLS networks, multinational transport, Internet access, and cloud computing and storage services. The agreement also extends Host.net’s relationship with Telx, which also includes PoPs for Host.net’s 10G multinational network in Telx facilities in Phoenix, San Francisco, and New York.
