(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — German hosting provider Host Europe (www.hosteurope.de) announced on Thursday it is acquiring the technology, employees and contract customers of virtualization provider vanager (www.vanger.com). The financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
The acquisition, which will be completed April 1, is part of Host Europe’s strategy to grow its virtualization and reseller business.
With a total of around 35,000 active virtual servers, HostEurope is the leading virtualization provider in Europe, says the company.
“This acquisition is a decisive, first strategic step for us,” says Uwe Braun, managing director of Host
Europe. “By doing this we improve our market position over the long term and become one of the largest providers of virtualization solutions worldwide. At the same time, we can expand our range of services.”
The deal will also benefit Vanager, as it was seeking an experienced parter to “allow the potential of vanager to be fully realized,” says vanager managing director Daniel Hagemeier, adding that its customers will benefit from “Host Europe’s know-how and product portfolio.”
Vanager has 10 employees in its head office in Münster, the hosting provider specializes in offering virtual server products and has a strong focus on the reseller business.
The company has developed its own administration software which helps customers to manage their server.
