(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider Host Europe announced on Monday that it has acquired Spanish web host and domain registrar RedCoruna. The amount of the acquisition was not disclosed.

This news comes more than a month after Host Europe partnered with website builder platform BaseKit.

Host Europe says RedCoruna is a perfect brand fit as it shares the same cultural values as the Host Europe Group with a customer-centric approach to web hosting. Host Europe is also looking to expand its European and global reach, with a focus on the market in Spain for growth.

According to the press release, RedCoruna has a good reputation for shared hosting and domain registry services. With the acquisition, its customers will have access to a larger selection of products and services including VPS, reseller hosting, cloud hosting, dedicated servers, new domain extensions and advanced email services.

Luis Veiga, founder of RedCoruna, will take on the role as country manager for the Spanish market.

“This is an exciting chapter in RedCoruna’s history as we join one of Europe’s leading hosting groups,” Veiga said in a statement. “Together, we will certainly make waves in the Spanish hosting industry and our customers will continue to enjoy a first class offering, but now with a larger selection of products and services at the most competitive prices in Europe.”

“We have been impressed with the steady growth of the RedCoruna brand,” Thomas Vollrath, CEO of Host Europe Group said in a statement. “With low churn and high levels of customer satisfaction, it has a customer-centric approach to business retention and development. This energy, coupled with a strong track record in web hosting in Spain, makes RedCoruna an extremely welcome addition to the Host Europe Group.”

In August 2011, the WHIR spoke to Vollrath about Host Europe’s acquisition of Heart Internet. In the interview, Vollrath said that Heart Internet would help grow its portfolio as well as support its UK growth.
