February 14, 2006 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — IT service provider Computer Sciences Corporation (csc.com) announced on Monday that it has signed a seven-year contract worth $8.9 million to provide managed hosting services for the Epic Systems clinical applications of Salem Hospital Regional Health Services of Salem, Oregon.
CSC says the agreement is the first commercially hosted and managed Epic Enterprise application to be deployed from a remote data center, since Salem Hospital is located in Oregon and the CSC facility is located in Virginia.
“CSC will work with both Salem Hospital and Epic Systems to create and maintain a robust and flexible environment that optimizes performance of the software suite,” said Daniel T. Garrett, managing partner of CSC’s Global Health Solutions organization. “Our technological expertise and healthcare industry experience will help Salem achieve results that support its business objectives.”
The company’s managed hosting offerings include a range of data center, network, security, server and applications services configured to provide a fully managed hosted solution. Clients can configure services based on their technical and cost requirements.
