(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Data center operator Horizon Data Center Solutions (www.horizondcs.com) announced on Thursday that it continues to add customers to its roster, landing large government and business contracts.
In December, Horizon announced it secured a $47 million, multi-year data center services contract with a unique US military retailer, the Army & Air Force Exchange Service.
The company says it has landed large government and business contracts, including a critical data backup and recovery contract for Main Event Entertainment (www.maineventusa.net).
The Texas entertainment company develops and operates large family entertainment centers throughout Texas, including Austin, Fort Worth, Grapevine, Lewisville, Plano, Shenandoah, Webster and Lubbock.
Main Event also plans to open a Frisco center later this year.
The family entertainment centers provide bowling, laser tag, billiard and video games, as well as holds corporate events, birthday parties, and a calendar of special events.
Horizon offers customers a program they call Flex Space, which provides for a customized contract based on a company’s specific business needs.
Main Event was looking to expand and needed high level security for its business and customer data.
Horizon will provide colocation, disaster recovery and business continuity solutions to Main Event for a minimum of five years under the current agreement, which the company says is worth six digits.
“Initially we didn’t think that a large data center company would have any interest in working with us, but with the number of transactions we have going on and the extensive customer base that we serve, we take our security and business data very seriously,” says Doug Novak, chief financial officer for Main Event. “Horizon offered a flexible package unlike any others we found in the data center industry, and we have since signed a multi-year agreement for our critical data center services and are looking at many of the managed services that Horizon has to offer.”
Horizon first entered the Dallas data center market in mid-2008 and has quickly grown to provide more than 40,000 square feet of data center storage in two data centers in Dallas.
The company is currently planning to open a data center in Houston next month, with additional facilities currently in the planning phase.
