(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Data center operator Phoenix NAP (www.phoenixnap.com) announced on Friday that content delivery provider Highwinds (www.highwinds.com) has established a point-of-presence within the Phoenix NAP facility.
The 160,000 square foot data center opened in June with about 15 percent of its 45,000 square foot first phase occupied by customers.
“As a data center operator, it is critical that we are able to provide an array of connectivity solutions to meet client needs,” says Ian McClarty, president of Phoenix NAP. “The addition of a Highwinds PoP to our meet-me room is significant as it enables any Phoenix NAP customer to choose the quality transit/transport solutions Highwinds offers.”
Highwinds will make its IP Transit and Transport solutions available out of Phoenix NAP.
This enables businesses in different industries to move content across its RollingThunder network.
The high-performance network consists of more than 70 PoPs in North America, Europe and South America.
The network also serves as the backbone by which Highwinds offers its suite of solutions, including CDN, IP transit, transport, peering, colocation, content storage and IP software.
As a network access point, Phoenix NAP is designed to offer its customers a vast range of network connectivity solutions.
Data center customers can select from whichever options best meets their needs.
Customers can also choose to work directly with a provider, such as Highwinds, or with Phoenix NAP’s carrier neutral sales staff to get service.
