Highwinds CDN Delivers NAB Coverage

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Content delivery network provider Highwinds Network Group (www.highwinds.com) announced on Thursday that the National Association of Broadcasters has selected Highwinds as its content delivery network partner for the 2009 NAB Show (www.nabshow.com).

This latest customer win follows Highwinds’ streaming of Netmax Media’s content in October, where the CDN delivered more than 30,000 licensed high-definition movies and television programs on an on-demand basis to global audiences.

According to the press release, the NAB Show is the “world’s largest electronic media show covering filmed entertainment and the development, management and delivery of content across all mediums.”

Video highlights from this year’s NAB Show will be delivered to online audiences over the Highwinds CDN during and after the event, which is held April 18 to 23 in Las Vegas.

Highwinds is working closely with the NAB and Digital Rapids, who is providing transcoding technology onsite at this year’s show.

The videos will include daily highlights, studio segments, and attendee and exhibitor interviews for on-demand distribution to worldwide audiences over the Highwinds CDN, via the NAB Show website.

“We are honored to be working with NAB, the leading authority on the ever-evolving broadcast industry, to make this year’s NAB Show highlights available to online audiences,” says Steve Miller, president and CEO of Highwinds. “The video coverage from this year’s show will be invaluable to individuals who are unable to be in Las Vegas next week and for those who want a recap of the show’s highlights.  We are pleased to make the online video available to worldwide viewers over the Highwinds CDN.”

The Highwinds CDN supports the delivery of live and on-demand video from some of the world’s largest broadcasters of media and entertainment content.
