Verio Attracts Resellers with Free Month of VPS Hosting: Companies looking to boost revenues are finding Verio's Free VPS promotion the right fit for getting started as Hosting Reseller.

March 31, 2003 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Business technical service provider Hurricane Electric (HE.net) announced on Friday that it will host its third seminar in a series based on Web performance and optimization, focusing on how to successfully secure a Linux server, on April 26, 2003.

According to Hurricane Electric, security editor of Linux Journal Magazine and author of Building Secure Servers With Linux Mick Bauer will lead the "Linux Security 101," seminar, which will include detailed discussions on the basic principles of server security and system hardening with demonstrations of popular security tools.

The company says it is sponsoring the seminar to allow attendees to learn how to secure their servers along with actively monitoring and responding to audit trails with tools like syslog, syslog-ng and swatch. Attendees will receive a free month of colocation at Hurricane Electirc's Fremont facility, and will receive a free copy of Building Secure Servers with Linux and current editions of Linux Journal Magazine.

Hurricane Electric says the seminar will take place on Saturday, April 26 between 10 am and 4 pm, and will include lunch. Attendance costs $199, and existing Hurricane Electric customers will receive a 50 percent discount.
