(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Harris Corporation (www.harris.com) has created a web-based tool for creating, scheduling and distributing programming and advertising over a geographically dispersed network.
According to Harris’ announcement this week, InfoCaster Online is its new administrative tool for large digital signage networks, letting multiple users remotely update content using a web interface. Users logged onto the web server can see only the players and groups of players assigned to them, and the regions in which they have permission to add, delete, edit and schedule stills and video content.
InfoCaster Online operates on a web server that runs on the InfoCaster network, interfacing directly with the InfoCaster Manager network management component for managing content across multiple displays. The company said schools, casinos, amusement parks, banks, corporations and retail stores are among the businesses where InfoCaster Online can serve as an addition to their digital signage system.
Also, InfoCaster offers a suite of products for creating, scheduling, distributing, playing and reporting live video and graphics, letting users re-purpose or create digital content and manage it throughout the entire delivery chain from a central site or multiple remote locations on a TCP/IP network.
