Before his appointment to the board, Marc Guindon held positions as chief financial officer and executive vice-president of resources for iWeb.
(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider iWeb (www.iweb.com) has appointed Marc Guindon to the iWeb board of directors after previously holding iWeb positions including chief financial officer and executive vice-president of resources.
According to iWeb’s Tuesday announcement, Guindon became a board member at the company’s latest annual meeting.
“Marc has been such an important element of iWeb’s financial management since we went public in 2004,” iWeb president and chief executive officer Eric Chouinard said in a statement. “His experience will continue to be a great asset now that he is a member of the board; we are happy that iWeb’s shareholders feel the same way.”
Guindon spent the early stages of his career at Ernst & Young. He then joined the SNC Group as vice-president of finance, leaving that company to fill the same position at Canam-Manac. He then created two groups of industrial companies, which he sold and retired in 1996.
Guindon came out of retirement to join iWeb in 2004 as CFO. In October 2008, iWeb made key changes in the company’s management structure, which involved iWeb co-founder Martin Leclair becoming president of products and technology, and Guindon becoming executive vice president of resources, with former corporate controller Philip Tousignant taking on Guindon’s former post as CFO.
With more than 160 full-time employees, iWeb provides Internet hosting services and IT Infrastructure worldwide from its three Montreal data centers, generating more than 60 percent of revenues from abroad.
