(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — PCI-compliant managed hosting services provider GreenSoft Solutions Inc. (www.gsihosting.com) has joined the R1Soft (www.r1soft.com) Hosting Partner Program, R1HPP, letting GSI offer its hosting clients secure, off-site backups for Linux, Windows, and MySQL using R1Soft’s Continuous Data Protection backup technology.
According to GSI’s Wednesday announcement, GSI receives access to a collection of highly-effective sales and marketing resources as a hosting partner, enabling it to drive sales and inform clients of CDP’s benefits and capabilities. R1HPP members also gain priority technical support and first access to new software updates.
“R1Soft CDP has proven to be a valuable asset as it has improved business and benefited our clients with faster backups, less overhead, less backup storage managing, and maximum scalability,” GSI chief technology officer and founder Robin Greenhagen said in a statement. “The higher backup-success rate requires less operational support providing us with real long-term benefits.”
R1Soft, a division of BBS Technologies, designed its disk-based CDP software to capture data at the block level versus the file level, enabling GSI to run high-speed backups. GSI also stores clients’ data at an additional off-site facility it owns, ensuring doubling data protection. The off-site backups give clients extra assurance they are protected from data loss and will only experience minimal downtime in the event of a disaster.
R1Soft vice president David Wartell said, “The R1HPP is designed to help hosting clients capitalize on their R1Soft CDP software and increase awareness among clients and potential clients about how CDP technology works to provide high-performance backups as well as the numerous features and capabilities that are available to them.”
The addition of CDP backups is the latest in a number of recent GSI developments. The company recently completed a six-month expansion project of its AirWorld Technology Center facility in Kansas City. Earlier in the year, it launched GSI Matrix, an enterprise-class virtualization platform designed to capture the full benefits of its “ServerHeroes” support, and a performance guarantee.
