WideXS was founded in 1996 and offers a range of hosting and cloud computing solutions including public and private clouds. It brings around 8,500 business customers to IS Group.
IS Group targets customers in the small and mid-sized business, enterprise and public sectors with its cloud and connectivity services. The company’s portfolio includes its HyperGrid cloud computing platform, its desktop-as-a-service offering DeskHub, as well as CrossNet, a management platform for networking and connectivity.

Furthermore, WideXS’s innovative Virtual Datacenter proposition perfectly complements our successful cloud and IT services proposition for channel partners and systems integrators,” Jan Willem des Tombe, CEO of IS Group said.
According to the announcement, the WideXS team will move into the IS Group offices and will fully merge with IS Group’s activities.
IS Group’s management board will continue to be led by directors Jan Willem des Tombe and Arjan Steevels.

Last year, IS Group acquired another Amsterdam-based web hosting provider, Nsx Internet. The acquisition was expected to strengthen IS Group’s position in the public sector, media and ecommerce industries and add new features to its HyperGrid cloud platform through the addition of Nxs’ IaaS platform.
