Green Tech Solutions Provider eCool Solutions Upgrades Employee Training

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — As demand for green technology grows, so too do new opportunities for those guiding the development of environmentally friendly solutions for today’s data centers. Providing advice and products aimed at implementing best practice and reducing energy costs, eCool Solutions (www.ecoolsolutions.com) is preparing its workforce to meet the demand for these services.

Data center cabinet suppliers Dataracks established sister company, eCool Solutions, last year to provide cold aisle containment and best practice products to provide the data center industry with simple, effective solutions, and this has led to an expansion in its skills-base.

Marc Hartley, 21, who began working for Dataracks (www.dataracks.co.uk) when he was still in high school, was the first to gain additional qualifications. He was granted a BTEC Advanced Award in Practical Datacentre Design, following his successful completion of the Certified Datacentre Design Course (CDCDC) with CNET Training.

“I began working for Dataracks when I was 15 during weekends and school holidays,” Hartley said in a statement. “The training gave me valuable experience, it covered best practice principles for the design, construction and operation of data centers. I am already applying my new technical knowledge in my day-to-day work and coming up with new ‘green’ design ideas.”

By managing airflow throughout the racking and data center, Dataracks provides the optimum conditions for the server’s own fans to work effectively. The temperature is kept within controlled margins, avoiding the extremes of heat and cold.

Along with significant energy savings, there are also cost savings that provide a fast return on investment.

“The data center industry is becoming increasingly energy intensive,” Hartley said. “It is great to be part of an experienced team working together to combat data center over-cooling, high carbon dioxide emissions and reduce energy consumption!”
