(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — dotMobi (mtld.mobi) announced on Thursday that its cloud-based goMobi (go.mobi) service is now available on Parallels virtualization and automation platform.

This news follows the release of a recent study by web hosting company Heart Internet that finds about half of web designers do not consider the mobile user experience when designing a website.

goMobi has partnered with several web hosting providers in recent months, including a partnership with HostPapa in June.

goMobi allows businesses to create mobile websites quickly and efficiently. The mobile site is designed to work on multiple devices, according to goMobi.

According to the announcement, goMobi functions as a fully integrated application within Parallels Plesk Panel 10 or directly from dotMobi as an APS application.

“dotMobi has taken advantage of the Application Packaging Standard in making goMobi available to more than 10,000 web services providers and resellers who use the Parallels’ SaaS model,” Eileen O’Sullivan, chief financial and operating officer of dotMobi. “As a ‘pluggable’ APS application, goMobi is available for simple, rapid deployment by web services providers, who can rapidly increase their revenues by helping businesses ‘goMobi.’”

Mobile website browsing is set to surpass desktop traffic by 2014. goMobi leverages mobile-only features like click-to-call, mapping, QR codes and integration with social networks and location-based services to engage customers and build relationships, according to the press release.

Web hosting providers can offer goMobi directly through their site, according to the company, and each goMobi account opened is activated and administered via the Parallels platform.

“goMobi gives thousands of Parallels service providers the opportunity to have an out-of-the-box offering that makes it easy for them to take the offering and upsell, resell or bundle mobile websites to reach billions of mobile Web users in the global market today,” John Zanni, VP of marketing and alliances at Parallels stated.

Zanni will be presenting at HostingCon 2011 (www.hostingcon.com) next week on Monday, August 8, at 9 am on “Technology and Margins: Using Customer Demand to Drive Product Direction to Grow Profitabilit Today.”

dotMobi and Parallels will both be at HostingCon 2011 in San Diego next week.
