Gomez Reports Record Sales in Q2
August 28, 2006 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Internet application performance management provider Gomez (gomez.com) announced on Monday it had seen record sales in its second quarter ending June 30, fueled by more than 50 new customers and growth in its existing customer relationships. The company achieved a year-over-year revenue increase of more than 50 percent, easily sustaining its profitable position.
Other notable accomplishments set in the second quarter include Gomez accelerating investment in its products, services and infrastructure, including major enhancements to the Gomez Performance Network, the opening of an engineering and product development based operation in China, and hiring experienced executives to enhance its leadership team.
New Gomez customers include a premier online dating service, the largest college-focused social networking community, a foremost European mobile phone provider, the US’s third-largest department store chain, and a top-10, billion-dollar e-retailer. The company says its momentum can largely be attributed to the customer preference for Gomez’s low-risk software as a service business model for Web site monitoring and management.
“The Gomez on-demand subscription model gives customers access to our award-winning Web site performance monitoring products and extensive global performance testing network without the time, labor and complexity of implementing software,” says Jaime Ellertson, Gomez CEO. “Customers seem to prefer this approach because it’s easier to ramp up, to adapt to change, and quickly achieve measurable ROI.”
