April 1, 2008 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — On-demand application management solutions provider Gomez (gomez.com) announced on Tuesday it has signed a referral partner agreement with Web hosting provider Rackspace (rackspace.com).
Under the Gomez PartnerFirst XF program referral partner agreement, Rackspace will use Gomez ExperienceFirst applications to assess the performance of its Web applications in order to ensure that they deliver a high quality user experience. Currently, more than 1,000 customers around the world use the ExperienceFirst platform, says Gomez.
Rackspace will also give customers the option of using Gomez services in addition to the application availability and performance monitoring it provides. These services will help improve the quality of the online experience they deliver by capturing and reporting website performance data taken from more than 150 globally-located Internet backbone nodes, and over 40,000 end-user desktops.
Gomez’s website performance testing is located outside the firewall, and provides customers with a similiar experience to what their users are experiencing when visiting their websites. ”Gomez helps us and our customers measure performance so we can continuously improve and deliver better customer experiences,” says Scott White, director of channel sales at Rackspace. “Working with this industry-leading platform supports our ongoing commitment to fanatical support. We believe that this service can provide our customers with a distinct advantage in Web experience management.”
Last month, Rackspace launched a corporate blog that, among other initiatives, promotes its ever-present “fanatical support” message.
