Go Daddy to Match Pledges for Arizona Humane Society Telethon

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Domain registrar and Web hosting provider Go Daddy (www.godaddy.com) announced on Wednesday it is the title sponsor of the Arizona Humane Society’s (www.AZHumane.org) 12th  Annual Pet Telethon and will match online donations, dollar for dollar up to $100,000, during the annual fundraiser.

This is the second consecutive year the telethon will be presented by the Web hosting provider.

By doubling online donations this year, Go Daddy hopes viewers feel encouraged to help animals in need at  Arizona Humane Society which relies solely on donations and fees to operate.

In addition to the annual donation, Go Daddy provides technical support to the Arizona Humane Society.

When the AHS website was unable to handle telethon traffic and crashed in 2006, Go Daddy provided a new Web address and is now hosting the site.

“Go Daddy understands the importance of giving back and when it comes to Arizona’s animals, we’re committed to providing the time and money needed to help,” says Go Daddy CEO and Founder Bob Parsons said. “Go Daddy wants to make every dollar count for the Humane Society, so if you give 10 dollars online, it turns into 20.”

The Arizona Humane Society shelters nearly 50,000 animals every year. The money raised during the telethon helps house these pets, as well as provide low-cost spay and neuter services, educational programs.

To watch the Arizona Humane Society’s 12th Annual Pet Telethon presented by GoDaddy.com, tune in Saturday, August 14th, to Phoenix ABC affiliate KNXV anytime from 1:30pm to 4:30pm PT.

Those individuals interested in donating online can do so on the Arizona Humane Society website.

In the past, Go Daddy has donated to other charitable organizations supporting women, children, education, and the military.

So far this year the company has already exceeded the $2.5 million in donations it reached in 2009, including the victims of the Nashville floods.
