Go Daddy Starts Hosting Community

January 15, 2007 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Domain registrar and Web hosting provider Go Daddy (godaddy.com) announced on Monday it has introduced a new hosting community called Metropolis with the aim of simplifying software management.

The new hosting community enables anyone with a Go Daddy Web hosting account to install, manage, rate and review third-party hosted applications.

GoDaddy says Metropolis offers more than 30 free software titles for immediate installation to Linux or Windows based hosting accounts. From blogs and forums to galleries and wikis, users can learn about software options from other community members and share their experience with reviews and ratings.

“We’re committed to making things easy for our customers,” says Go Daddy president and COO Warren Adelman. “Metropolis is a social tool. It helps users manage applications, but the key feature is the venue it creates for our customers to share experiences and make recommendations for others.”
