September 8, 2008 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Domain registrar and web hosting provider Go Daddy (godaddy.com) announced on Monday it is a broadcasting sponsor for the Sprint Cup Series Sylvania 300 race at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, New Hampshire.
The event, which airs live on ABC, September 14 at 1 p.m., marks the domain registrar’s debut into the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. The racing series is considered NASCAR ‘s highest level of professional competition.
The company is certainly no stranger to NASCAR sponsorships. The company has previously sponsored other NASCAR events, including NASCAR Nationwide Series, in which Go Daddy-sponsored racer Ron Fellows won first place, and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.
In July, Go Daddy provided the Canadian telecast for the NASCAR NAPA Auto Parts 200 in Montreal, Canada.
Go Daddy has also been the presenting sponsor for the Indianapolis 500 television broadcast in the IndyCar Series for the past two years.
“Moving into the Sprint Cup Series makes sense for Go Daddy because all eyes are on the championship right now,” says Go Daddy CEO and founder Bob Parsons. “NASCAR fans are about as dedicated as any fans in sports – what’s not to like about that?”
The company first entered the NASCAR scene as the primary sponsor for the No. 5 GoDaddy.com Chevrolet, designed by Dale Earnhardt, Jr. himself, which competed for six races in 2008 in the Nationwide Series.
The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Sylvania 300 Race from New Hampshirw will air next Sunday at 1 p.m. on ABC TV.
