(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Domain registrar and web hosting provider Go Daddy (www.godaddy.com) announced on Monday it will donate $100,000 to help victims of the Nashville floods.
After seeing an amateur video about Nashville’s devastating floods, CEO Bob Parsons sent out a Tweet, pledging a $100,000 donation.
Go Daddy is working to contact Nashville’s Salvation Army today to officially arrange the donation for Tuesday.
This is not the first time the company has donated to an important cause. In June 2008, Go Daddy donated $100,000 to the Salvation Army to help flood victims in northern Iowa.
Earlier this year, the company donated $500,000 to Hope for Haiti, a relief fund established to help victims of the earthquake in Haiti.
“When I saw the degree of the devastation in Nashville and realized how the people there are pulling together, on their own, as a community — I knew Go Daddy had to help,” says Parsons.
Those individuals interested in donating $10 to the Salvation Army Relief Efforts can text the word “flood” to 90999 or visit here.
