Go Daddy Continues IndyCar Sponsorship

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Domain registrar and web hosting provider Go Daddy (www.godaddy.com) announced on Friday that for the third year in a row it is the presenting sponsor for the Indianapolis 500 telecast.

As part of the deal, Go Daddy will have its logo appear on everything from broadcast segments to aerial and in-car views, as well as commercials, during the live ABC broadcast on May 24.

Go Daddy Girl and IndyCar racer Danica Patrick will be starring in a new Go Daddy commercial custom-made for the Indy 500.

The new commercial, titled “Speeding”, will see Patrick being pulled over for speeding on a deserted highway.

Patrick most recently appeared in the company’s 2009 Super Bowl commercial, which the company says broke prior records for both new customer sign-ups and total orders, and was ranked as the 2009 Super Bowl’s Most Watched, according to TiVo.

“This is, by far, the hottest Go Daddy commercial we’ve ever done,” says Bob Parsons, CEO and founder at Go Daddy. “Considering all the Go Daddy ads rejected over the years, this is as GoDaddy-esque as it gets. Our Internet-Only version will have people talking.”

This year marks Go Daddy’s third consecutive broadcast sponsorship.

Competiting with Andretti Green Racing team, Patrick made history last year when she became the first woman ever to win an IndyCar Series race last year in Motegi, Japan.

The Indianapolis 500 broadcast presented by GoDaddy.com will air on ABC TV, 12 p.m. EST, on May 24.

Go Daddy also recently branched out into sponsoring women’s professional golf when it signed Anna Rawson, an Australian LPGA golfer and model, as a Go Daddy Girl.

The company celebrated on Wednesday the second annual Web Professionals’ Day, a holiday it created to honor all online professionals.
