November 16, 2006 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Managed services provider Global Netoptex (gni.com) announced on Wednesday it has completed relocating 250 servers and switches belonging to Sun Microsystems (sun.com) from its hosting facilities in San Jose, California to the 365 Main data center in San Francisco, California.
“GNi did an excellent job,” says Chris Bleasby, operations manager for Sun Dot Com Engineering. “They transported and set up all our servers, putting them in the correct locations ready for the Sun engineers to reconnect. I expect our vendors to be professional, fast, efficient and available when we need them. GNi is all that and more.”
Bleasby adds that Sun Dot Com Engineering finds it convenient that GNi also operates the network operations center at 365 Main because it eliminates the need for one of Sun Dot Com’s technicians to have to drive back and forth any time there is a problem.
GNi says its customer-centric approach provides a single point of contact for all services including managed services, Internet security, cabinets, cabling, subcabinets, load balancers and around-the-clock onsite tech support for its SAN storage services.
