June 28, 2007 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Tradeshows and events producer IDG World Expo announced on Wednesday that Global Netoptex (gni.com) president and CEO Derek Wise will be speaking at the inaugural Next Generation Data Center — Conference & Expo (ngdcexpo.com), taking place August 6 to 9 at the Moscone Center.
The event will detail new technologies and their impact on the data center, covering mission-critical applications and the technology supporting those applications including power and cooling issues. Wise’s session ‘Why Outsource? What to Know and Consider’ will be held August 9 from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m..
The session will discuss some of the benefits of outsourcing generally, and more specifically, of using Master Outsourcers. Wise will argue how Master Outsourcers adds to the value chain and provides the best TCO for servers, bandwidth, support, colocation, power and nearly any other product normally used in a data center.
“Any company not already focused on energy management and conservation will need to start implementing new procedures in 2008,” says Melinda Kendall, VP and general manager at Next Generation Data Center. “NGDC’s Advanced Facilities Management and Planning sessions will provide key guidance on maximizing performance while minimizing power.”
Wise recently presented at last month’s Interop Data Center Summit in Las Vegas, Nevada.
