(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Further opening its secure sockets layer solutions to Central Europe, Certification Authority GlobalSign (www.globalsign.com) has announced that online design and technology provider Janmedia Interactive (www.janmedia.pl) will be promoting its Code Signing Certificates and SSL Certificates via its Poland websites, www.airtrust.pl and www.hosting360.pl.
According to GlobalSign’s Tuesday announcement, the partnership will allow customers to easily purchase and install GlobalSign’s Code Signing Certificates to securely distribute Adobe AIR applications, as well as SSL Certificates to secure websites, login pages and other next generation online services.
“We decided to partner with GlobalSign, Europe’s longest serving Certificate Authority, as it offers the most trusted and cost effective Code Signing and SSL security options currently available in the digital certificate market,” Janmedia hosting director Alicja Baran said in a statement. “GlobalSign’s digital certificates complement our existing product portfolio and we are looking forward to supplying our global customer base with these exciting new security solutions.”
GlobalSign’s code signing solution allows software vendors to digitally sign and timestamp the software they distribute over the Internet — which is the online equivalent to shrink-wrapping CD-based software for distribution, assuring the end user that the applications, including those on Adobe AIR, are legitimate. Janmedia chose GlobalSign’s code signing over other vendors because of cost, support and credibility factors.
Janmedia switched from another leading digital certificate provider to benefit from GlobalSign’s feature rich SSL Certificate range. It will be offering Domain Validated SSL Certificates for fast issuance, as well as the more traditional Organisation Validation SSL Certificate.
