According to GlobalSign, a subsidiary of GMO (www.gmo.jp/en), the new V-SIGN alliance will allow GlobalSign to offer CA construction and operational support for Vietnam, which is currently investing in the significant development and deployment of e-Government solutions. In this new partnership, GlobalSign draws on more than ten years of experience providing e-Government solutions for Belgium and New Zealand.

The business agreement between GlobalSign and V-SIGN marks the beginning of a partnership that will explore CA projects in Vietnam.

Currently, Vietnam’s Ministry of Information and Communications has a number of projects underway and their digital certificate infrastructure is essential to providing e-Government security.

GlobalSign’s new Vietnam partnership market follows other major investments into Asian IT infrastructure, which reports suggest is an expanding market. Also this year, the world’s largest undersea cable operator and emerging communications giant, Tata Communications (www.tatacommunications.comannounced a $430 million strategic investment plan in the Asia Pacific region, which included a new $180 million Singapore data center, the completion of the main segment of its TGN-Intra Asia Cable System, and developing the Tata Communications Exchange.
