(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) – SSL certificate provider GlobalSign (www.globalsign.com) announced on Wednesday that it has partnered with NATION Technologies (www.nationtechnologies.com) to deliver a data encryption solution, BIOWRAP Certified by GlobalSign, to GlobalSign’s customers.

This announcement is part of GlobalSign’s recent initiative to enhance its security offerings. This partnership comes two days after GlobalSign launched HackAlert malware monitoring systems free with SSL certificates.

GlobalSign says BIOWRAP leverages its digital certificates and NATION Technologies encryption application.

According to the companies, its BIOWRAP solution “immediately addresses the need for improved security and transparency to meet these requirements for the protection of sensitive electronic information.”

GlobalSign says that what sets its encryption solution apart from other solutions on the market is that its files can be delivered by any electronic means and are always protected. BIOWRAP encrypted files do not require recipients to use PKI in order to access sensitive files.

“GlobalSign is excited to add the BIOWRAP data encryption solution to complement its current digital certificate solutions for document security and email encryption,” Janine Marchi, senior marketing executive, GlobalSign said in a statement. “The BIOWRAP data encryption solution goes much further than alternative solutions, by providing a truly unique, cost-effective solution to meet the increasing demand for the protection and tracking of electronic information both inside and outside your organization.”

The application-based solution enables users to create an unlimited number of files, according to GlobalSign. The company says that once a file is certified, only authorized recipients can view the file using the free BIOWRAP reader.

GlobalSign says registered users also have access to real-time forensic auditing reports that detail all activity associated with encrypted files.
