GlobalSign Opens China Office

February 25, 2008 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — IT security solutions provider GlobalSign (globalsign.com) announced on Monday it has launched a newly established office in China, expanding the company’s global reach. The company also has offices in the US, UK, China, Japan and Brussels, Belgium.

As China undergoes a significant reform, becoming more connected to the global economy as well as placing stronger emphasis on science and technology, GlobalSign saw this change as an opportunity to strengthen its business presence in China.

“In the Asia Pacific region, China’s economy has demonstrated rapid development and provides huge potential for investment and expansion,” says Ichiro Chujo, GlobalSign Group CEO. “We’re placing great emphasis on a superb customer experience and throughout 2007 redesigned and rebuilt our enterprise and reseller systems from the bottom up.  Now GlobalSign is in an ideal position to take the SSL market by storm and spread the awareness of the GlobalSign trusted root further into the Far East.”

The company completely re-branded itself last year with the backing of its new parent company GMO Internet. Rolling out new products, solutions and systems, GlobalSign says it has positioned itself to compete directly with VeriSign under its new banner.

GlobalSign announced last month it has achieved an impressive 180 percent growth rate in 2007 for its SSL certificate products.
