(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Bringing its trusted Secure Sockets Layer, Extended Validation SSL, S/MIME and code signing services to a larger audience, GlobalSign (www.globalsign.com) has announced that its digital certificate solutions and other security products are now more accessible to Netherlands customers with the introduction of a Dutch-language website (www.globalsign.nl), sales, support and customer services.
According to GlobalSign’s announcement this week, by expanding the GlobalSign brand further into the Dutch market with a fully localised Web presence, and dedicated sales and support services in the local language. This will enable enterprises and channel partners in the Netherlands to source security products from the GlobalSign range online, quickly, effectively and with minimal hassle.
“The expansion into the Dutch market is an exciting development for GlobalSign,” GlobalSign managing director Paul Tourret said in a statement. “We are delighted to be able to make our range of services available to our Dutch customer base, backed-up by a new web presence and dedicated native sales and support services, ensuring a simplified customer experience especially as customers using other Certification Authorities face confusing times due to acquisitions and brand changes, leaving the stable GlobalSign brand as the strongest alternative solution.”
As Internet usage in the Netherlands continues to grow, so too does the risk of phishing attacks and other security threats. Responding to this trend, the number of Dutch websites secured with SSL has increased by more than 55 percent over the past year, making the country the third largest SSL market in Europe according to figures from analytics provider Netcraft (www.netcraft.com). According to GlobalSign, its move into the Netherlands is timed to capitalise on this growing market and local demand for an alternative to other SSL providers.
Part of Japan-based GMO Internet Group (www.gmo.jp/en/), GlobalSign is providing a localised Dutch ordering system. Sales and technical support in the local language will be available for both enterprise and channel customers.
Designed to meet the needs of organisations of all sizes and all industries, GlobalSign’s new dedicated website offers the company’s comprehensive range of SSL certificates, including fast issuance domain validation, traditional organization validation and the most advanced EV SSL certificates, which activate the green address bar in widely used browsers such as Internet Explorer 7, Firefox, Opera, Chrome and Safari.
GlobalSign’s preferred partner in the Netherlands, Networking4all (www.networking4all.nl), will continue to provide GlobalSign’s SSL certificates, adding to the local representation and continuing to bring their own significant market expertise to the distribution of GlobalSign solutions to make it easy for customers to secure their websites with GlobalSign certificates.
GlobalSign has offices in the US, UK, Belgium, Japan, and China, and has been recently active in establishing partnerships particularly in Europe. Last month, for instance, Finnish Web hosting provider IceBlueHost (www.icebluehost.com) joined GlobalSign’s SSL partner program, enabling it to resell the full range of GlobalSign SSL certificates to its Scandinavian and European customer base. And, in June, French SSL aggregator TBS Internet (www.tbs-internet.com) joined GlobalSign’s SSL partner program, letting it complement its current SSL product portfolio GlobalSign’s simplified, highly competitive and feature-packed range of SSL certificates.
