March 6, 2002 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Global Crossing Inc. (globalcrossing.com), a currently
r
bankrupt high-speed network provider, has filed a lawsuit against XO
r
Communications Inc. (xo.com) after the compering carrier cut off Global Crossing’s access to its network, the Los Angeles Times reported Wednesday.
r
r
This was the first major interruption of service for customers of the
r
Bermuda-based Global Crossing, the newspaper said.
r
r
In the lawsuit, Global Crossing asked a bankruptcy judge to order XO to
r
renew service for the affected customers immediately. The company said in
r
the suit that more than 120 customers in the U.S. used XO lines to access
r
services.
r
r
The suit alleged that XO was reciprocating a decision by Global Crossing to
r
halt its services on Feb. 28 for not paying a delinquent bill, according to
r
the report. Neither Global Crossing nor XO spokespersons were available for
r
further comment.
