A map of datadock's network
(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) – Web host Server4you (www.server4you.com) announced on Tuesday that its new EcoServers are now based on Primergy systems from Fujitsu.
According to the press release, Server4you’s new servers have quad-core CPUs from AMD and up to 16 GB DDR3 RAM.
“With our offers we want to make modern brand-name hardware available for everybody,” Server4you’s director Thomas Strohe said in a statement. “And we don’t even charge any setup fee and do without minimum contract terms. Our customers are supposed to stay with us because they are satisfied, not because they have to.”
Server4you says its new EcoServers use more than 55 percent less energy than standard servers, with an average input of 37.2 watts.
EcoServers can be hosted at datadock, “one of the most eco-friendly data centers in Europe”, according to the company. Servers4you says datadock’s total power consumption is 25 per cent lower compared to other data centers. Each EcoServer saves 70 percent of the energy that a normal server would use in an average facility, if in datadock.
The servers are available from $58.99 a month.
