German Central Registry, DENIC, Selects UnitedLayer as Colocation Partner

DENIC signed a multi-year contract with UnitedLayer for colocation, cross connect and IP services for its West Coast .de name servers.

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — The central registry for all domains under the Top Level Domain .de, DENIC eG (www.denic.de) has selected managed colocation services firm UnitedLayer (www.unitedlayer.com) as its colocation partner for its West Coast Domain Name System deployment.

According to UnitedLayer’s Tuesday announcement, Frankfurt-based not-for-profit DENIC signed a multi-year contract with UnitedLayer for colocation, cross connect and IP services for its West Coast .de name servers. DENIC will be supplied physical data center floor space for cabinets, power and cooling at UnitedLayer’s flagship data center facility in Los Angeles, which features fully-redundant N+1 environmental control and 2N power systems.

“UnitedLayer specializes in providing custom colocation solutions for each of its customers and the team strives to make sure that customers are 100 percent satisfied on all fronts,” UnitedLayer senior marketing communications manager Daina Tilton said in a statement. “We are happy to announce that DENIC eG is part of the large family here at UnitedLayer.”

UnitedLayer founder and CEO Arman Khalili said his company is honored to help host Germany’s TLD Domain Name System infrastructure. “UnitedLayer will provide colocation, transport and IP services to host the US west coast DNS setup for .de in our data centers,” Khalili said in a statement.

In October, open-source software non-profit the Internet Systems Consortium (www.isc.org) chose UnitedLayer to provide colocation, cross connect and IP services from its data center in San Francisco.
