October 9, 2003 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Certificate authority GeoTrust Inc. (geotrust.com) announced last week the further expansion of its international operations with the opening of GeoTrust Europe. With the announcement, the company said it will begin offering its Web security services and digital certificate and identification products to the European market. GeoTrust Europe will initially offer a limited range of services that include QuickSSLT, True SiteT, True BusinessID and Enterprise SSL.
GeoTrust Europe will be based in Maidstone, England just outside of London. The subsidiary will be responsible for sales, customer support and partner management activities throughout the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region.
“Over the last two years GeoTrust has witnessed an upsurge in the adoption of our services,” said Neal Creighton, president and CEO of GeoTrust. “We plan to emulate that success in Europe and grow to be the prominent SSL provider in the region within the next three years.”
The company also announced the appointment of Paul Tourret as managing director of GeoTrust Europe.
