December 14, 2005 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web security services provider GeoTrust (geotrust.com) announced on Wednesday that more Web sites added GeoTrust certificates than those of any other vendor during 2005, according to the results of market research firm Netcraft’s (netcraft.com) December Secure Server Survey.
GeoTrust said the results showed a customer preference that validated the company’s efforts to issue name-brand certificates in minutes, as well as the strength and reach of the company’s worldwide partner network.
“GeoTrust’s strategy has been to make SSL technology readily available to help drive growth of online businesses, so we’re particularly gratified to see we’ve topped the market for SSL certificates securing public sites,” says Neal Creighton, president and chief executive of GeoTrust.
GeoTrust provides identity verification and trust services for e-businesses around the globe. It is the fastest growing certificate authority, according to Netcraft.
