June 16, 2008 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider GeekStorage (geekstorage.com) announced on Monday that it has partnered with data protection software developer R1Soft (r1soft.com) to provide enterprise-level website backups for customers.

The announcement follows April’s news of web hosting provider Future Hosting joining R1Soft’s Hosting Partner Program.

R1Soft’s CDP server monitors changes to a hard drive as they occur, enabling fast backups that can be completed within minutes.

The application enables webmasters to restore individual files, or tables within a database, with a single click. Additionally, multiple restore points can be made each day, week and month.

All NAS devices on the GeekStorage network have been installed with CDP, providing added protection and functionality to all their customers’ websites.

“With the deployment of R1Soft’ CDP, we’ve taken yet another step to ensure our geeks are provided data backups that are second to none in the industry,” said a spokesperson for GeekStorage. “We are excited to be deploying this solution and we look forward to the additional protection it provides our geeks.”

R1Soft recently moved its offices to a 100-year-old building in the Montrose District of Houston, Texas.
