October 23, 2008 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Online solutions provider Future Hosting (www.futurehosting.biz) has partnered with web site monitoring firm Pingdom (www.pingdom.com) to offer proactive server monitoring for managed virtual private servers customers.

According to Future Hosting’s Tuesday announcement, the company’s managed VPS customers will be given basic server monitoring from Pingdom and are able to select more advanced monitoring packages from Pingdom at a reduced cost. A long-time supporter of proactive solutions, 2001-founded Future Hosting is the developer of VPS automation tool Server Doctor that manages everything from account provisioning to security scans.

“Constant monitoring of important servers and services is a must in today’s demanding online business climate,” Pingdom chief executive officer Sam Nurmi in a statement. “Future Hosting customers will receive a huge value boost by the addition of third-party monitoring, ensuring that the infrastructure is always functional and available.”

Future Hosting will be technical contact in the event of an unresponsive server. Future Hosting technicians will be automatically notified of the problem and dispatched immediately. Future Hosting said, “In most cases, technicians will have resolved the problem before the client was even aware of the loss of service.”
