(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Letting users synchronize email, calendars, contacts, tasks and notes between computers, laptops and mobile devices, email hosting services provider FuseMail (www.fusemail.com) has launched a cross-platform sync service that supports Blackberry, Windows Mobile, Outlook, and iPhone, as well as more than 1,000 other mobile handsets.

According to the company’s announcement late last week, FuseMail’s sync service works with nearly any phone with access to a data plan, giving users more connectivity than before, without the expense of buying compatible phones or having to subscribing to pricey Microsoft Exchange plans.

“Having ready access to your emails, contacts and calendar while on the move is critical to many business people,” FuseMail president Bryan Heitman said in a statement. “Our solution supports over 1,000 different mobile devices, so staying in sync doesn’t necessarily mean having to buy a new phone anymore!”

To power its sync service, FuseMail chose “Mobile 2.0″ messaging software developer Funambol’s (www.funambol.com) open-source, push email and PIM sync solution, giving the service broad device support, robust capabilities and superior value.

All FuseMail’s current 200,000 small and medium business customers, including those on an enterprise contracts, have access to sync functionality. The service will also be available to its growing network of worldwide resellers.

FuseMail operations vice president Henry Weber said sync functionality perfectly complimented the company’s service package. “We already have advanced email services, including a great new Webmail platform and sync was a natural extension.”
