Freewebs Offers New Tool and Widget

August 23, 2007 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting tools provider Freewebs (freewebs.com) announced on Thursday that it has launched a new what-you-see-is-what-you-get site building tool.

Freewebs says the WYSIWYG tool enables users to choose from over 300 templates and build and edit on the same screen, watching their sites come to life in real time. Users will be able to create and shift column width and location, split paragraphs, add and wrap text around photos as well as have total access to Web widgets like chatrooms, PayPal buttons, maps and flash games. Freewebs’ site builder also enables seamless integration with user generated content companies including YouTube, Brightcove, Digg and Photobucket.

Freewebs also launched a new creative advertising campaign for the comedy Mr. Bean’s Holiday, which hits theatres August 24. The campaign on Freewebs encourages people to interact by way of a calendar widget, which enables users to upload a photo themselves to a Mr. Bean’s Holiday calendar that they can then share with anyone on the Web.

Last month, Freewebs launched a new widgetized advertising campaign for Universal Studio’s summer hit, “Knocked Up.”
