June 6, 2007 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web publishing tools provider Freewebs (freewebs.com) announced on Tuesday it has named Michael Burke as director of ad sales. Burke will work closely with Chris Cunningham, Freewebs’ VP of advertising, to help drive the company’s advertising and widget sales strategy.
Burke has 10 years of experience in sales, strategy development and marketing in new media. He was most recently served as sales manager for national accounts at Yahoo!, as well as serving a sales position at TEKsystems.

Freewebs also announced it has launched its UK subsidiary and named JP Kemp as head of UK sales. Kemp has spent the last eight years delivering sales opportunities for companies such as the Telegraph and MediaTel Group. He was most recently the head of agency sales for Handbag in the UK.
Freewebs announced last week it added a Widget Bank to its catalog of easy-to-use Web site building tools.
