April 13, 2005 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Online Web hosting community FreeWebTown (freewebtown.com) announced on Tuesday that it had produced and distributed of the first podcast for rock band Dash Rip Rock.

Dash Rip Rock front man Bill Davis is featured in the podcast delivering original and humorous stories in between unreleased songs and samples of the band's recorded music. The bi-weekly podcasts will be produced and distributed by Mike A. Hall of FreeWebTown.

A podcast is an audio file recorded using Really Simple Syndication methods that listeners can download to their digital music devices and computers.

"Fans get the benefits of radio without having to 'tune in' at specific intervals," says Hall. "This type of 'Internet broadcasting' gives us enormous freedom from traditional broadcasting or regulatory constraints. We are pleased to add podcasting our free services."
