Former Savvis CEO Joins Infinera Board

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Digital optical communications systems provider Infinera (www.infinera.com) announced on Thursday that Philip Koen has joined the Infinera board of directors.

The announcement comes just a couple of months after Infinera named 25-year IT veteran Kambiz Hooshmand to its board.

Koen brings a significant amount of experience from the service provider industry to the Infinera board of directors.

He served was CEO of Internet infrastructure services provider Savvis from March 2006 until last month, when he Koen resigned from the company to “move on to a new opportunity”. In the meantime, James E. Ousley is serving as interim CEO.

Prior to joining SAVVIS, Koen served for more than four years as CEO of data center operator Equinix.

Koen joins outside directors Reed Hundt, formerly chairman of the Federal Communications Commission and now with Charles Ross Partners, Ken Goldman, Dr. Dan Maydan, Carl Redfield, and Hooshmand.
