February 15, 2006 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Availius, the recently launched subsidiary of interconnection service provider FiberNet Telecom Group (fibernet.com), announced on Tuesday it has successfully relocated its hakia data center. The company evaluated hakia’s power and equipment requirements and collaborated with it to engineer, design and construct a significantly larger POP for hakia’s northeastern network location.
“Availius was launched with the vision of leveraging FiberNet’s intellectual capital and implementation capabilities,” says Jon A. DeLuca, president and CEO of FiberNet. “With clients like hakia recognizing the value proposition we bring to the marketplace and entrusting business-critical projects to Availius, we could not have asked for a better start.”
Hakia is creating the Internet’s first meaning-based search engine with a proprietary semantic system breaking from the conventional indexing technology, offering higher levels of development in performance and human-like communication. Still in its beta phase, hakia is scheduled to be released as a full-capacity search engine in the third quarter of 2006.
To meet its rapidly growing infrastructure needs and establish a larger POP, hakia engaged Availius to relocate its data center from 60 Hudson Street to the larger 165 Halsey Street facility, all without disrupting the front-end operations.
