(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Data center operator Telx (www.telx.com) announced on Tuesday it has chosen fiber optic solutions provider Fiberlight (www.fiberlight.com) to link its two Dallas area data centers to 1950 Stemmons Freeway via a dark fiber ring.
Earlier this month, another fiber optic connectivity solution provider, AboveNet, chose Telx for its new point of presence in Dallas, expanding its metro Ethernet network.
According to the press release, the new ring makes the Telx facility at 8435 Stemmons Freeway the “region’s most interconnected network hub.”
Customers installing equipment in one of Telx’s two Dallas-area facilities can have low-latency access to more than 100 carrier and service providers located in the three locations over the high-quality Fiberlight optical transport network.
“Many customers choose Telx because of our ability to offer a myriad of network choices,” says Rose Klimovich, vice president of product development and product management for Telx. “This offers excellent growth potential for all types of businesses. The addition of 1950 Stemmons Freeway to our Dallas ring offers additional bandwidth and circuit options to our customers, creating even greater possibilities for our customers.”
Since it is located in a low threat zone, the Telx facility at 8435 Stemmons Freeway makes an ideal disaster recovery center.
The data center provides customers with low latency and reliable network options that connect facilities around the United States, as well as greater network distribution and business continuity options for customers colocated in other regions.
The company provides interconnectivity solutions through its over dozen network-neutral and network rich, colocation facilities, including in New York, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Santa Clara, Miami, Phoenix, Charlotte, and Clifton and Weehawken, New Jersey.
