July 25, 2003 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Negotiations between Feature Price and Atlantic.Net are ongoing following a dispute between the two companies that eventually led to an eviction notice.
In an update dated July 23 posted to Atlantic.Net's Web site, the company said it is "continuing to hold discussions" with Feature Price about access to Feature Price's equipment. According to Atlantic.Net, a Florida-based ISP and Web hosting firm that purchased the assets of Feature Price in May, the former entity of Feature Price denied Atlantic.Net employees access to Feature Price's equipment in early July. Shortly after access was denied, all service to Feature Price customers ceased.
A lengthy message posted to a Web site that the Featureprice.com domain currently points to discusses the "saga" between the two companies and encourages Feature Price customers to contact Atlantic.Net about having their sites re-activated. It is unclear whether the message, which is hosted on a page located at Yahoo! GeoCities, is from someone at Feature Price.
"Many of you are sick-n-tired [sic] of the issues, so are we, we have met Atlantic's offer, we have sent in writing many times settlement offers, over the last 3 weeks Atlantic has only sent ONE email in writing for settlement," the message reads.
Feature Price's domain name has carried several different messages and pointed to no less than three different sites over the past few weeks, including Yahoo! Web hosting and GlobalHost.com. The domain name is also currently being auctioned off on Afternic.com, where the asking price is $30,000.
