Fasthosts' latest and most powerful dedicated server features 32GB of RAM, and two 2.1GHz AMD Opteron 12 Core processors, as well as 300GB SAS and two 500GB SATA hard disk drives.
(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider Fasthosts Internet (www.fasthosts.co.uk) launched on Monday a 24-core dedicated server package, which is the first of its kind in the UK, according to the company.
The Fasthosts DS 1100 has 2 x 12 Core AMD processors, 32GB RAM, SAS hot-swappable hard disk drives with RAID1 redundancy and free KVM remote access.
Fasthosts is offering 50-percent off for the first three months, so the package is available for £179.50 or about $275 per month.
Dedicated servers are ideal for IT professionals and businesses that require server operations and data storage without the costs or physical infrastructure required for 24/7 operations on its premises.
“Our DS1100 server is a fine example of the excellent business case for outsourced dedicated hosting – enterprises receive the best possible performance, protection for their data and business continuity, whilst paying only a fraction of the cost of buying their own hardware,” Fasthosts chief executive officer Andy Burton said in a statement. “Our investments in the very latest server architecture mean our dedicated servers are not only evolving in terms of raw power, but are now more intuitive to use, responsive and scalable than ever before. This new hardware-based dedicated sever range complements our high spec virtual server solutions which we launched earlier this year, providing our partners and customers with real choice in platform, specification and price.”
Fasthosts servers use the latest Intel and AMD processor cores, optimizing speed and delivering energy-efficient performance. They are available with either Linux or Windows systems.
Using Cisco’s switching technology enables users to add multiple servers to create their own secure private network.
Fasthosts includes free SSL certificates for the first year.
The company will launch a new Advanced Server Montioring service at the end of the month. The service will offer dedicated server customers automatic updates on their resources and the performance of applications and databases they have deployed. The service will be about $31 per month and enable customers to view this information via text or email.
In addition to its latest dedicated server offering, Fasthosts has also strengthened its reseller hosting services this week with the introduction of an online training program for resellers, which offers both strategic and practical training on how to build up a profitable reseller hosting business.
