Excedent Technologies Appoints New VP

December 8, 2003 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Excedent Technologies (excedent.com), a provider of managed email hosting and security threat prevention for service providers, announced today that it has appointed Kevin Minnick as vice president of product development.

Minnick joins Excedent from Honeywell Corporation, where he helped the company develop software for the pharmaceutical and consumer packaged goods industries. This is Minnick’s second stint with Excedent. Prior to joining Honeywell, Minnick was employed with Excedent Technologies.

“Bringing Kevin back into the full-time mix to lead our product development initiatives will be a major productivity boost,” said Bill Boebel, chief technology officer for Excedent. “We work very well together, and he is familiar with most of our management team as well as our software development staff. He is light years ahead of anyone we could recruit off the street, even from within the industry, and will have an immediate impact on our current and future product goals.”

The company said Minnick’s first initiative is to facilitate the deployment of Excedent’s newly developed infrastructure scaling architecture, which is designed to help the company’s growing customer base tackle spam and viruses to ensure optimal email performance.

“The company has come a long way in the last four years,” said Minnick. “I’m proud of what this management team has built and I’m happy to be reunited with the founders. The industry is moving quickly and I look forward to the challenges that lie ahead.”

Minnick will be based out of Excedent’s Blacksburg, Virginia office.
