Excedent Picks Rackspace for Hosting

June 28, 2004 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Email hosting provider Excedent Technologies (excedent.com) announced on Monday that it has selected Rackspace Managed Hosting (rackspace.com) as its managed hosting provider.

"We decided to move our infrastructure to Rackspace because of their unique positioning within the hosting industry," says Patrick Matthews, CEO of Excedent. "They are one of the only profitable managed hosting companies in the world. As a leader within our respective industry, we wanted to align ourselves with a partner that will be around for the long term to help us keep an availability promise to our own customers."

Bill Boebel, CTO of Excedent, said Rackspace's hand-on support was a key selling point that precluded consideration of a colocation provider.
