Ex-Savvis CEO Settles Topless Bill

March 9, 2006 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — According to reports released this week, Robert McCormick, the former CEO of Web hosting firm SAVVIS reached a settlement for the $241,000 tab he allegedly rang up entertaining clients at New York City strip club Scores on October 22, 2003.

Representatives for the club said the settlement was reached between Scores, American Express, SAVVIS and McCormick, but that the amount of the settlement would remain confidential.

McCormick resigned in November of 2005, during an investigation into the issue launched by SAVVIS after a lawsuit was brought against the company by American Express, which had already compensated Scores for the bill charged to McCormick’s corporate credit card.

McCormick had refused to pay, claiming that only $20,000 worth of charges had been authorized.

SAVVIS placed McCormick on unpaid leave during the investigation. Following his resignation he was replaced at SAVVIS by acting CEO Jack Finlayson.
