(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Dutch data center provider EvoSwitch (www.evoswitch.com) announced on Wednesday it is going to be connected to the NDIX broadband platform (www.ndix.net) via an installed network switch.
The independent, non-profit marketplace in Germany and the Netherlands separates fiber-optics infrastructure and services in order to more rapidly develop broadband services.
The access point in the EvoSwitch data center marks the 27th point-of-presence NDIX has established in the Netherlands and Germany.
The POPs in the total network of NDIX jointly act as a marketplace that connects broadband-service providers and customers so that they do not have to depend on the services of fiber-optics infrastructure providers.
The presence of the NDIX platform in the data center will let current and future EvoSwitch customers develop new markets.
Meanwhile, EvoSwitch providers and customers in the NDIX marketplace will be given access to the entire NDIX network and its participants via a single connection.
“This gives broadband service providers access to a wealth of potential customers via a single channel without having to have their own fiber-optics infrastructure,” says Jeroen van de Lagemaat, president of NDIX. “And customers can now benefit from the fact that they are no longer dependent on infrastructure providers, so they can look for the best price-quality ratio for every broadband service.”
The NDIX platform’s broadband ICT services are used by a wide range of users, including health care and educational institutions, industrial enterprises, and organizations that provide business services.
NDIX serves as a digital marketplace for broadband services, as well as an interface for broadband connections.
The platform lets companies and organizations interlink their locations via broadband without any capacity restrictions.
EvoSwitch was recently recognized by the German Federal Environment Ministry as one of 11 energy-efficient data centers in its report of best-practices in the area of green data center initiatives in Europe, the US and Asia.
