December 21, 2001 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — EuroTrust A/S (eurotrust.dk) today announced it has merged its Web hosting company, Digiweb (digiweb.dk), with DHT Hosting ApS, aDenmark-based automated hosting company.
The combined entities will be known as EuroTrust Secure Hosting A/S and willbe based in EuroTrust’s secure facility in Soeborg, Denmark. Under terms ofthe transaction, EuroTrust owns 75 percent of EuroTrust Secure Hosting andthe founders of DHT Hosting, Jakob Albers and Lars Graae, own the remaining25 percent of EuroTrust Secure Hosting. EuroTrust has also acquired atwo-year option to acquire the remaining 25 percent of EuroTrust SecureHosting A/S at a price tied to the future profitability of EuroTrust SecureHosting A/S.
“We strongly believe that uniting and streamlining our Web hostingactivities is a safe way to gain profits from the activities,” saidEuroTrust COO, Brian Mertz Pedersen. “This large group of hosting costumersare potential costumers of EuroTrust’s e-security products and thereforethis acquisition is of great value to EuroTrust as whole.”
At the time of the transaction closing, DHT had more than 3,500 customers.
